MAITLAND PENNINGTON

Maitland F. Pennington. 84, of M-129 Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan passed away at 11:55 p.m. on Tuesday night. April 24. 2001 at the St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw. Michigan.
Maitland was born in Pickford. Michigan on May 31, 1916. He was a lifelong resident of Chippewa County and spent his winters in Summerfield, Florida for the past 28 years.
He retired in 1972 from the Soo Locks as a lockmaster for the Corps of Engineers where he was employed for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II where he received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the V.F.W.. Post #3676 and the American Legion of Sault Ste. Marie. Mich. He enjoyed gardening. his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by two sons, Ronald (Sharon) Pennington of Pickford, Mich. and Dennis (Joyce) Pennington of Birch Run, Mich.; two daughters, Mar Skonieczny of Brighton, Mich. and Joann Van Blaricum of Largo, Fla., nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren: and one sister, Edna (Jack) Roe of Ocala, Fla.
Maitland was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia "Teash" on February 21; one sister, Phyllis Pennington, one brother. Dean Pennington; and his parents, Frank and Margaret Pennington.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 29 from 2 until 5 p.m. at the Reamer Funeral
.
