"My Great Grandfather, Robert, spent 12 years in South Australia working on a sheep ranch. He returned to Scotland probably late 1851. His brother William, your Great Great Grandfather, then emigrated to Canada. As you can see, his name has been put on the family tombstone in Scotland (you didn't need to be buried there). After his death all contact with his family was lost."
