  General Notes:

Thomas was the son of Robert ab Eynon (Baynham) and Margaret Abrahall.
He married firstly Margaret Hody, she died before 1470.
They were the parents of:
Sir Alexander Baynham, born 1459, of, Westbury-on-Severn, Gloucestershire, England and died September 25, 1524
William Baynham, born 1461,
Elizabeth Baynham, born 1463,
Isabell Baynham, born 1465 and died Aft June 24, 1519.
Thomas married secondly Alice Walwyn about 1470.
They were the parents of:
Jane Baynham, born 1472, Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire, England
Sir Christopher Baynham, born 1478, Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire, England and died October 6, 1557, Glowerwall, Gloucestershire, England
Susan Baynham, born 1479
Anne Baynham, born 1480

It was during Thomas' life that St Michael and all Angels church attained much of the appearance it has today. In the second half of the 15th century, a clerestory and west window were added to the nave giving it a spacious air, and later in this period the roofs of the two north aisles were altered to their present form by rebuilding the centre arcade making one roof outside but inside separate finely carved wooden ones. Also the east and west windows of the north aisle were altered and the west door of the nave added. All this rebuilding was in the perpendicular style. It is likely too that the upper tower and spire were added, and also the panel paintings above the chancel entry.
Probably most of the cost of this work fell on the Baynham and his second wife, Alice, estates. But as Thomas Baynham was at different times the sheriff of the country and co-constable of St Briavels castle, the combined resources of his and Alice families would have been able to bear these expenses.

Thomas married Alice WALWYN [5351] [MRIN: 5100], daughter of William WALWYN [5352] and Unknown, about 1470.1338 (Alice WALWYN [5351] was born in 1452 in Mitcheldean, Forest of Dean District, Gloucestershire, England, died on 22 October 1518 in , , England, United Kingdom and was buried in October 1518 in Mitcheldean, Forest of Dean District, Gloucestershire, England.)

Thomas next married Margaret HODY [5353] [MRIN: 5102], daughter of Sir John HODY [5778] and Elizabeth LE JEWE [5779], before 1452 in Gloucester, , Gloucestershire, England. (Margaret HODY [5353] was born in 1438 in Stawell, , Somerset, England,1339 died in 1475 in Mitcheldean, Forest of Dean District, Gloucestershire, England 1339 and was buried in 1475 in Mitcheldean, Forest of Dean District, Gloucestershire, England.)
