Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 11:00 A.M.. Minister Gerald Hammond and Minister Cora Grace Goldman will officiate.
Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 10, 2012 from 6-8 P.M. and on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Barbara was born in Bannister, MI on April 1, 1938, the daughter of Eugene A. and Nellie (Blount) Lover.
She graduated from Elsie High School, Class of 1957.
Barbara married Gerald Lee Hammond on November 11, 1958 in Ashley. He passed away on March 18, 2005.
She enjoyed playing video games and computers. She loved gardening, knitting, crocheting and watching game shows. Barbara especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She resided most of her life in Bannister, MI.
Barbara was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by son, Gerald and Glenna Hammond, Jr. of Owosso, MI, daughter, Tina Mills of Bannister, MI, son, Charles and Dorothy Hammond of Owosso, MI, two brothers, Raymond Lover of Bannister, MI and Charles Lover of Sturgis, MI, two sisters, Betty Lover of Bannister, MI and Margaret Rodriguez of Ovid, MI.
Barbara is also survived by seven grandchildren, Debra Hammond, Kelly Bearden, Charles Hammond, Jr., Amber Hammond, Ruby Braman, Stacy Casler and Tammy Snook, three great-grandchildren, with one on the way and many nieces & nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four brothers, Franklin, Richard, Eugene, Jr. and Art Lover.
