Dean E. Pennington of 5500 W. Houghton Lake Road, Lake City, Michigan Died Wednesday, September 6, 2000 at his home. He was 74.

He was born May 24, 1926 in Pickford to Frank and Margaret (Nelson) Pennington. Mr. Pennington was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a life member of the V.F.W. No. 7958 in Hessel, the American Legion Post no. 300 in Lake City, and the AMVETs Post #110 in Cadillac. He was employed by the Michigan Department of Transportation for 35 years, retiring in 1981. He operated a Lawn Boy Service until 1999.

Survivors include his wife, Janet (Pat); son, Frank (Sue) Pennington of East Jordan; daughters, Lynn (John) Gustafon of Lansing, Pamela (Mike) Holland of Reed City, and Carol (Tim) Heck of Battle Creek; brother, Maitland (patricia) Pennington of Sault Ste. Marie; sister, Edna (Jack) Roe of Sault Ste. Marie; and grandchildren, Ryan, Stuart, Devon, Christopher, Luke, Marcie, Tricia, Jenna and Jarrod.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis.

Services were held Saturday, September 9 at Young Funeral Home in Lake City with Rev. Richard Budden officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Chapel Gardens in Sault Ste. Marie.
