  General Notes:

SIR DAVID DE LINDSAY, who acted as one of the Regents of Scotland in 1255, was High Chamberlain in 1256. He witnessed a confirmation charter of King Alexander in. to Balmerino as 'David de Lindesay, juniore.' He joined the Crusade of St. Louis in 1268, and died in Egypt.

By his wife, Margaret de Lindesay, probably daughter of Walter de Lindsay, Lord of Lamberton he had issue:
1.) SIR ALEXANDER.

2.) Sir William, Lord of Symington, who (circa 1310) founded masses at Deer for his two wives Alicia, and Margaret Oomyn, Countess of Buchan, and at Newbattle for his father and mother. Sir James de Lindesay, Lord of Crawford, succeeded to Symington, and claimed to be Lord of Buchan.

3.) Sir Duncan, brother of Sir William, named c. 1310

David died in Egypt while on Crusade for St Louis IX, King of France. Succeeded to lands in 1244, granted to father by Margaret Countess of Pembroke, in Northumberland.

David married Margaret LINDSAY [8047] [MRIN: 5825], daughter of Walter LINDSAY [8056] and Christiana HOSE [8057]. (Margaret LINDSAY [8047] was born about 1249 in Lamberton, Berwickshire, Scotland 1910, christened in 1247 in Mordington, Berwick, Scotland, Great Britain,1910 died in 1274 in Mordington, Berwickshire, Scotland 1910 and was buried in 1274 in Breneville Castle, Ayrshire, Scotland 1910.)
