He went to a school with one classroom, in Pickford Township, called Pleasant Park School. His job there was to build the fire for heat in the school. He tried potato farming at a young age. He served in the U.S. Army, in the 41st Infantry Division, in Asiatic-Pacific Theater, during WWII. He served from December 3, 1941 to October 4, 1945. He and his late wife Helen (Rokowski-Harrison) married in June 1945. They raised a son and a daughter together. He liked bowling and traveling. In 1981 he retired from Huron Forge. He was generous man, who went out of his way to help others. He volunteered in the Boy Scouts, and was an Asst. Little League Baseball Manager. He also belonged to the VFW, and was a Post 5672 Commander twice. He was survived by his daughter, a son, four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He will also be missed by his niece and nephew. He was predeceased by his wife Helen, and his step-daughter Deanna Harrison-Robinson. 2.
