FamilySearch ID: 9KD5-DDX. General Notes: ZERUBnABEL, b. 1698-1708 (oldest son) ; m. Dorothy (3153) ; lived in Norwalk, New Canaan Parish, Ct., and Bedford, W.ch. Co., N, Y. ; d. 1790-'94. He and his bro. Moses Hayt signed an indenture relating to the est. of their grandfather Zerub., in 1738. His name appears as one of the com. appointed at the first meeting of the New Canaan society, July, 1731. He and his wife, Dorothy Hayt, were added to the New Canaan chh., May 8, 1737, and had chil. bap. there in 1736 and '39. In Jan., 1748-9, Zerub. Hoit, or Height, of New Can. Parish, bought land in Bedford, and he prob. rem. thither about 1749. We also find deeds from Zerub. and Dorothy Hoyt to their eldest son, Stephen Hoyt, in 1770; and from Zerub. Hayt to his son Major Hayt, in 1788, all of Bedford, ackn. Oct.. 1790, by witnesses Zerubbabel married Dorothy HOLMES [2950] [MRIN: 4399], daughter of Jonathan HOLMES [3351] and Dorothy ROBERTS [3352], in 1729 in Norwalk, Fairfield, Connecticut, British Colonial America.857 (Dorothy HOLMES [2950] was born in 1702 in Norwalk, Fairfield, Connecticut Colony, British Colonial America 859 and died in 1790 in Bedford, Westchester, New York, United States 859.)
