FamilySearch ID: GX6J-D6Z. General Notes: Sir William was a faithful adherent of Robert the Bruce and accompanied the Earl of Moray and Sir James Douglas in their expedition into England in 1327. For his valour he was knighted under the royal banner in the field. While attempting to draw the English archers into an ambush he was taken prisoner, but was shortly exchanged for an English prisoner.
