Marie, died Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Medilodge of Munising. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 11:00 am at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris, with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Deloris' family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and again on Saturday morning, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Deloris was born on October 23, 1937, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Basil and Pauline (Hunter) McCulligh. She and Gerald Benson were united in marriage on September 1, 1956. Sadly, he preceded her in death on November 1, 1999. Deloris worked as a secretary at GAB for many years until her retirement in 1993. In her free time, she enjoyed going on casino trips, playing cards, snowmobiling, camping, and spending time outdoors. She also loved watching sports, especially the Detroit Redwings and Detroit Tigers. Most importantly, Deloris loved spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Jeri Lynn and husband, Kevin Janik, Ron and wife, Lyn Benson, and Brent Benson and special friend, Cathy Chaplin; four grandchildren: Barry Childers, Melinda and husband, Jocarey Adams, Ryan and wife, Geri Benson, and Joe McConaughy; six great-grandchildren: McKenzie, David, Jasmine, Donovan, Mariah, and Aleah; sisters: Virgene and husband, Bob Trygg, Lynda and husband, Tom Morrick; and brother, Jim and wife, Melanie McCulligh; special sister-in-law, Myrna Benson; and special brothers-in-law: Courtney, Andrew, Frank, and Fred Benson. Deloris was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; her son, Carl; and her parents, Basil and Pauline.
